{"id":443827,"date":"2025-02-11T10:02:03","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T10:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/?p=443827"},"modified":"2025-03-03T10:02:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T10:02:27","slug":"dog-found-dead-in-woodland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news\/dog-found-dead-in-woodland\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog found dead in woodland in Harthill"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>We are\u00a0appealing for information after a dog was found dead in woodland in the Covenanter Road area of Harthill on Saturday 8 February.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>A member of the public called the animal helpline after finding the dog wrapped in a blue fleece, next to a public pathway and river.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>Scottish SPCA Inspector Colin Arthur, said: \u201cWe were called out to dead dog found wrapped in a blue fleece in a quiet woodland area of Harthill.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>\u201cSadly, it looked like it had been there for some time.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>\u201cThe dog was unfortunately not microchipped but looked to be a Collie type dog.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>\u201cIt is unknown what has happened, but the dog did have some visible wounds to the neck. It is unclear if these wounds happened before or after death.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"block-wrapper my-5 core-paragraph\"><div class=\"container-xxl\"><p>\u201cIf anyone has any information surrounding the circumstances of this dog, they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are\u00a0appealing for information after a dog was found dead in woodland in the Covenanter Road area of Harthill on Saturday 8 February.
