The animal was in a box inside a black bin bag and was wrapped in a baby blanket.<\/p>\n<p>Scottish SPCA inspector Robyn Gray said, \u201cThe kitten is between five and six months old and is a young male.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately he is not microchipped and was not wearing a collar when he was found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is black and white with a distinctive white marking on his face just above his mouth so we\u2019re sure someone must recognise him.<\/p>\n<article class=\"align-center media media--type-image media--view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__label visually-hidden\">Image<\/div>\n<div class=\"field__item\">  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/full_content\/public\/2021-10\/20211026_155322.jpg?itok=GbknLNVN\" width=\"847\" height=\"635\" alt=\"body of a black and white cat showing cat's face with white marking on upper lip\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"img-fluid\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>\u201cThe kitten appeared to be in good body condition before he passed away with no visible wounds or disease so he has clearly been someone\u2019s pet until recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re keen to find out how the cat came to be in this location and the circumstances leading up to his death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we appreciate the death of a pet can be a frightening and upsetting time, this isn\u2019t the correct procedure to follow when dealing with the body of an animal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf anyone has any information on this incident they can contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are appealing for information after the body of a young cat was found in a play park on Toboggan road in Methil, Fife.
