{"id":4248,"date":"2022-01-07T10:19:30","date_gmt":"2022-01-07T10:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news-appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T14:30:01","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T14:30:01","slug":"appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news\/appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal for homes for overlooked ferrets"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"paragraph-3670\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--type--content-with-summary paragraph--view-mode--default\">\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-content-with-summary field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">We are appealing for homes for overlooked ferrets in the care of our Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.<\/p>\n<p>We have\u00a0been caring for the ferrets for a combined total of over 400 days and our longest resident, Lily, has been at the centre since June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Centre manager Gillian Boyle said, \u201cWe\u2019d love to find a home for the ferrets in our care as they will make a brilliant addition to the right home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPoor Lily has been with us the longest out of all the ferrets, spending over 200 days at the centre so far. <\/p>\n<article class=\"align-center media media--type-image media--view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__label visually-hidden\">Image<\/div>\n<div class=\"field__item\">  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/full_content\/public\/2022-01\/Lily%25202.jpg?itok=GriyVnfq\" width=\"847\" height=\"635\" alt=\"Lily the ferret standing in her enclosure\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"img-fluid\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>\u201cShe is well-handled and could potentially live with other ferrets given the correct introduction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also have another single female ferret in our care named Darla, who would prefer to be the only ferret in her new home. She came in to our care after she was found as a stray and sadly no owner ever came forward to claim her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDarla loves water and playing with her toys so would make a really fun companion for her new owner!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is still young so will need further handling to make sure she becomes a well-mannered member of the family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSally and Suki are a bonded pair of female ferrets. They are looking for an experienced home as they can be a bit nippy when being handled. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLastly, Crash and Tumble are our bonded male pair.
