{"id":4085,"date":"2022-08-22T14:33:49","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T14:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news-appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets-in-lanarkshire\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T14:29:08","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T14:29:08","slug":"appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets-in-lanarkshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news\/appeal-for-homes-for-overlooked-ferrets-in-lanarkshire\/","title":{"rendered":"Appeal for homes for overlooked ferrets in Lanarkshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"paragraph-4082\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--type--content-with-summary paragraph--view-mode--default\">\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-content-with-summary field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">We are appealing to the public to find homes for four overlooked ferrets in the care of our Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre. <\/p>\n<p>We have&nbsp;been caring for the animals for a combined total of over 570 days but unfortunately Lynx, William, Brandy and Rufus have had little interest.<\/p>\n<p>Centre assistant manager, Carrie Gianelli, said, \u201cWe would love to find forever homes for these fabulous ferrets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur longest ferret resident is William who has been with the Society for almost 300 days altogether!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is inquisitive and loves to know what is going on around him. William will need someone who has the time and patience to continue building his confidence when he is being handled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLynx is a friendly wee ferret that loves attention and exploring new areas. He comes to greet you each morning and is very well-handled. Lynx is very tidy in his enclosure and is litter trained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRufus loves playing with his toys and enjoying a good run around. He loves nothing more than snuggling up in his bed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrandy is a very energetic and inquisitive boy who likes to watch what is going on around him. He loves to dig and burrow and enjoys having time out of his enclosure for his daily handling. Brandy would be best suited to an experienced owner in a home with older children if any.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll four of these ferrets are neutered and could live with other ferrets pending appropriate introductions. They will require plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep them physically and mentally stimulated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf anyone is also thinking about becoming a first-time ferret owner then please consider adopting an animal and giving them a second chance. Our centre reception is open 1pm until 4pm daily and you can give our teams a call or pop in with any questions you might have about adopting one of these animals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFerrets make fantastic pets with their funny, cheeky natures and will definitely bring a lot of fun in to their new owners\u2019 lives.
