He was miserable and didn\u2019t want any interaction with us, he really was trapped in his own body.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, once we got him on a diet and he started to lose weight and gain mobility his personality began to shine through! He loves playing and enjoys chasing wand toys and rolling around in cat nip. <\/p>\n<article class=\"align-center media media--type-image media--view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__label visually-hidden\">Image<\/div>\n<div class=\"field__item\">  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/full_content\/public\/2023-04\/Thistle.jpg?itok=Y0nmzD5a\" width=\"847\" height=\"635\" alt=\"a ginger and white cat lying on the floor\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"img-fluid\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>\u201cThistle isn\u2019t the kind of cat to come and sit on your lap but he will be sure to rule the roost in his new home and sit anywhere he sees fit- even if it is in your way! He does like getting stroked but will let you know when he has had enough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, any potential new owner will need to be aware that he is a very food-orientated criminal mastermind who will open fridges and doors to steal food! His strict diet still needs to be followed to continue his weight loss. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally, Thistle suffers from stress cystitis which he is on medication for along with special food. This will need to be managed in his new home along with regular teeth brushing.<\/p>\n<article class=\"align-center media media--type-image media--view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__label visually-hidden\">Image<\/div>\n<div class=\"field__item\">  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/full_content\/public\/2023-04\/Thistle%203.jpg?itok=5mUTtmAt\" width=\"847\" height=\"635\" alt=\"a happy ginger and white cat getting his ear rubbed\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"img-fluid\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll need a rural home with plenty of quiet, outdoor access for him to explore once settled. An adult-only home, or one with older teenage children, would be preferred. Thistle would also be best-suited to a home without dogs or any other cats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThistle has been through a tough time but he deserves a loving home to call his own.
