{"id":3835,"date":"2023-08-03T09:26:51","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T09:26:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news-fox-cub-rescued-from-bath-tub\/"},"modified":"2025-01-15T11:07:39","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T11:07:39","slug":"fox-cub-rescued-from-bath-tub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/news\/fox-cub-rescued-from-bath-tub\/","title":{"rendered":"Fox cub rescued from bath tub"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"paragraph-4744\" class=\"paragraph paragraph--type--content-with-summary paragraph--view-mode--default\">\n<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-field-content-with-summary field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">We recently rescued a fox cub who was found in a bath tub at an address on Ormidale Terrace, Edinburgh on 1 August.<\/p>\n<p>The shocked residents discovered the surprise guest at around 4pm in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Catherine Atterton, said, \u201cThe resident of the house got a bit of a shock when they discovered the fox cub in the bath!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey think the animal must have sneaked in through an open door at some point during the day but wasn\u2019t sure when.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThankfully the cub was unhurt, just a bit frightened.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were able to release the cub back into the wild straight away in the vicinity of the fox den we think they came from.\u201d<\/p>\n<article class=\"align-center media media--type-image media--view-mode-full\">\n<div class=\"field field--name-field-media-image field--type-image field--label-visually_hidden\">\n<div class=\"field__label visually-hidden\">Image<\/div>\n<div class=\"field__item\">  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/full_content\/public\/2023-08\/Untitled%20design%20%2812%29.jpg?itok=ywrjdVKt\" width=\"847\" height=\"492\" alt=\"a fox cub being released back into the wild by an animal rescue officer\" typeof=\"foaf:Image\" class=\"img-fluid\" \/><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>If anyone finds an animal in distress they should call the Scottish SPCA animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
