He pulled over and, with the help of another driver, they managed to secure the rabbits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA carrier was on the other side of the fence but had been left open so they had both managed to escape.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth rabbits had no obvious signs of injury and were in good condition. They are now in our care at one of our animal rescue and rehoming centres.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not the correct way to give up a pet if you can no longer care for them. This was a dangerous situation for these rabbits and the outcome could have been very different. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf anyone recognises these rabbits or has any information surrounding their circumstances, they should call our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are appealing for information after two rabbits were found abandoned on the verge of the A73 near Thankerton.
