{"id":1697,"date":"2024-10-21T10:53:06","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T10:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/fundraise\/return-your-raised-funds-2\/"},"modified":"2025-04-07T15:22:30","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T15:22:30","slug":"items-you-can-donate","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/ways-to-give\/donate\/items-you-can-donate\/","title":{"rendered":"Items You Can Donate"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"text-block my-5\" data-bs-theme=\"white\">\n    <div data-aos=\"fade-up\" class=\"container-xl wrapper-sm\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrap\">\n            <h1>Donating items to help animals in our care<\/h1>\n<p>We are always grateful to receive items that help us to look after the animals in our care.<\/p>\n<p>You can donate items to one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240901105956\/https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/items-you-can-donate#ARRCs\">Centres<\/a>\u00a0or to our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240901105956\/https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/items-you-can-donate#NWC\">National Wildlife Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Through Pet Aid, we provide essential food supplies for animals through a network of food banks across most of Scotland.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/what-we-do\/pet-aid\/\">Find our more about Pet Aid and how to donate food and other items<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to donate a large quantity of items, such as food, please contact <a href=\"mailto:fundraising@scottishspca.org\">fundraising@scottishspca.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section><section class=\"text-block my-5\" data-bs-theme=\"white\">\n    <div data-aos=\"fade-up\" class=\"container-xl wrapper-sm\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrap\">\n            <h2><strong>Scottish SPCA Centres<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We have seven Centres across Scotland. Outside each Centre is a box where you can leave your donated items. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/centres\/\">Find your nearest Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the items you can donate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Towels and blankets (if used, please ensure they are clean and have been laundered)<\/li>\n<li>Hand knitted items<\/li>\n<li>Used newspapers (must be bagged)<\/li>\n<li>Toys in good condition<\/li>\n<li>Plastic dog beds in good condition<\/li>\n<li>Pet food (unopened and in date)<\/li>\n<li>Vegetables and fruit (spring greens, kale, broccoli, cucumber, spinach, celery, carrots, apples, grapes, any berries)<\/li>\n<li>Raffle prizes (as long as they are new and in packaging)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note we <strong>cannot accept <\/strong>the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dog crates and cages<\/li>\n<li>Duvets and pillows<\/li>\n<li>Textile dog beds<\/li>\n<li>Fish tanks<\/li>\n<li>Pet food that has been opened<\/li>\n<li>Poor quality or broken toys<\/li>\n<li>Dog biscuit mixers<\/li>\n<li>Dog food with coloured biscuits<\/li>\n<li>Rawhide treats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section><section class=\"text-block my-5\" data-bs-theme=\"white\">\n    <div data-aos=\"fade-up\" class=\"container-xl wrapper-sm\">\n        <div class=\"content-wrap\">\n            <h2><strong>National Wildlife Centre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our National Wildlife Centre in Fishcross, Clackmannanshire, also accepts donated items and these should be left in the donation box outside the centre.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240901105956\/https:\/\/www.scottishspca.org\/our-work\/national-wildlife-rescue-centre\">Find the National Wildlife Centre<\/a>. The centre\u00a0can accept:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All sizes of blankets \/ fleece<\/li>\n<li>Newspapers<\/li>\n<li>Animal toys in good condition<\/li>\n<li>Plastic dog beds in good condition<\/li>\n<li>Pet food (unopened and in date)<\/li>\n<li>Vegetables and fruit (spring greens, kale, broccoli, sweetcorn, lettuce, spinach, carrots, apples, berries) \u2013 only during spring and summer<\/li>\n<li>Pillow cases, bed sheets, duvet covers, hand towels, bath towels<\/li>\n<li>Fish tanks with lid in good condition and good size (has to be clean)<\/li>\n<li>Finely knitted nests<\/li>\n<li>Clean, used jar lids<\/li>\n<li>Good condition plant pots and trays<\/li>\n<li>Unopened bird seed, suet, etc<\/li>\n<li>Poltec cages, plastic brooders<\/li>\n<li>Wood chip &amp; compost (unused)<\/li>\n<li>Plants, trees, gardening equipment<\/li>\n<li>Small plastic pet carriers<\/li>\n<li>Play pens, animal hides<\/li>\n<li>Unopened hay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note our National Wildlife Centre <strong>cannot accept<\/strong>\u00a0the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Duvets and pillows<\/li>\n<li>Blankets that have been knitted<\/li>\n<li>Dog crates \/ cages<\/li>\n<li>Opened \/ out of date pet food<\/li>\n<li>Any treats, coats, leads<\/li>\n<li>Small bird cages<\/li>\n<li>Shredded newspaper<\/li>\n<li>Small animal bedding such as sawdust, hamster bedding<\/li>\n<li>Any types of medications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are always grateful to receive items that help us to look after the animals in our care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"parent":13,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-1697","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v24.7 (Yoast SEO v24.7) -
